Authentication & RBAC

Users and bots use a joint API for authentication to identify themselves towards the Kabori platform.

Roles provide a grouped and organized access authorization management. They control:

• Data Model access
  • Who can access which data models
  • Who can edit, create, delete or view data
• Field-level access
  • Who can view which fields
  • Who can change field values

Data Ownership

Data records can be owned by specific users.

By configuring data ownership, additional restrictions will be enforced. They can further be combined with RBAC for a more nuanced access configuration.

For example, backup files might only be accessed by users that uploaded them - but also by administrators, in order to be able to restore a user’s data on their behalf.
